· The Problem ·

Coaching kids is hard.
Remembering who pitched in Game 3 is harder.

Every rec-league parent has the same complaint. Every coach has the same pocket-full-of-crumpled-paper system. Fair Ball replaces the paper.

· In the lineup ·

What’s inside Fair Ball.

Built by a coach for the volunteer parents who get there at 8:50 for a 9:00 game.

Fair Ball Welcome screen: 'The coach's pocket edition' header, three-minute setup flow with steps for roster, schedule, and rotation.

Three minutes from app to lineup.

Add nine kids, tap dates from your league schedule, hit auto-rotate. The wizard walks you through the first time, then gets out of your way.

Fair Ball Roster screen: a 12-player Cardinals roster with jerseys, preferred positions, and tap-to-edit rows.

The roster you'd build on paper, but better.

Nine to fifteen kids per team. Jerseys, preferred positions, and the note that says “absolutely refuses to play catcher.” One purchase covers iPhone and iPad. No separate buy.

Fair Ball Schedule screen: 2026 Spring Cardinals schedule with a green Season Balance callout, a 3–1 record, and upcoming games starting Saturday vs Pirates.

Every game, accounted for.

Tap dates by hand or paste from a league CSV. Fair Ball remembers home vs. away, who you're playing, and how the season's going. The next game is always one tap from anywhere in the app.

Fair Ball Balance screen: a fairness verdict reading 'Fair enough' over a per-player table of innings at each position group.

Math the parents can see.

Fair Ball balances positions and innings across the whole season. Not just the next game. When the spread is tight, the Balance view says so. When it's not, you'll know who's owed an infield turn.

Fair Ball Game Day screen: large 1st-inning header for Cardinals vs Pirates, full battery and field positions, and the bench listed at the bottom.

Dugout-ready, sun-readable.

Big text, high contrast, swipe between innings with one thumb. Everything you need on the bench fits on one phone screen. No login, no Wi-Fi, no permission dialogs at 9 AM.

Coach’s questions.

Will my data sync between my phone and iPad?
Not in v1.1. iCloud sync is on the roadmap for v1.2. In the meantime, Export Season → JSON gives you a manual transfer that works between any two devices.

Will it work without Wi-Fi at the field?
Yes. Everything is local-first. No login, no permissions dialog, no waiting for a signal in a parking-lot diamond.

Does it run on iPad?
Yes. Portrait + landscape on iPad, portrait on iPhone. Same data, same code, one purchase covers both.

How many players can I track?
Nine to fifteen per team. The fairness engine is tuned for that range. Bigger rosters work, but the math gets less interesting fast.

What if I don't like the suggested lineup?
Tap any cell to lock it. The engine reschedules around your locks. Or flip Auto-rotate off entirely and run the engine only when you press Regenerate. Manual mode lives one toggle away.

Can I print or share the lineup card?
Tap to share. Fair Ball generates a portrait US Letter PDF and a plain-text card, ready for AirPrint, Messages, or the dugout magnet.
